Synbad Ontiveros was born in El Paso, TX and has been all over the great state of TEXAS. He attended High School in a small West Texas town called Monahans, attend 2 yrs of college at West Texas A& M in Canyon, spent 7yrs working for the Texas Youth Commission, then moved to Dallas in 1995. He started his radio career at KNON 89.3 in late 1995 and was then hired by 97.9 the Beat in April of 2001. This is also when Synbad's writting career started taking off, as a columnist for Tu Y Yo Magazine and has contributed articles related to Hip Hop and Latino Entertainment news to Migente.com.
He is currently the Editor of Dallasvida.com & a personality for 97.9 the Beat. He also donates his time to work with area schools through the Perfect Attendance program, whose goal is to keep Latino students in school. Recently he has donated his time to combating “CHEESE”, a mix of black tar heroin and Tylenol PM, which is overtaking the campuses of DISD schools with predominately Latino student populations. He also acts as a publicist and promoter for several Latino record Labels, artist and Latino Clothing companies. He is considered by many at one of the foremost experts regarding Latinos and Urban Music.
