Marcos Hernandez has been singing for years and has been seen at events put together by Rincon Communications, KISS FM and other promoters. Most recently he performed at Meggaeton Dallas.
"If you were mine" is the number one requested song right now on KISS 106.1FM. And Marcos is getting airplay in cities across the country, such as LA, Boston, San Antonio, New Orleans, Reno, Phoenix and other cities.
I got a chance to sit down with Marcos Hernandez to talk about his rise in the music industry.
Synbad: Marcos, I have known about you for years now but lets get the readers more familiar with Marcos Hernandez. Let them know how you got started.
Marcos: Well, it was several years ago that Kidd Kraddick decided to create a group called Son’s of Harmony and I was lucky enough to make the final cut and be a part of the group. It was kind of a joke at first but then things really started taking off for us. There were four members and we were fairly successful. We decided to start working on other projects and I started to get real serious about my vocals and spent the next couple of years working on my craft and writing songs.
Synbad: Now did you leave Dallas to work on your writing and vocals?
Marcos: No, I stayed here in Dallas but I did record some tracks out of town. I worked with Magic from NB Ridaz in Arizona and also went to San Jose to work with Ponti on a track called Baliamos.
Synbad: Your album C About Me will be dropping around May 31st, right? Who did you work with on the Album?
Marcos: Yea, the album comes out on the 31st of May and Dianne Warren helped me put the CD together along with Richie Blaze and some other local producers. I have a track with Gemini on the album that is HOT! So make sure you pick up the album.
Synbad: How long did it take you to put the album together?
Marcos: It took two years of hard work and me making contacts with people in the industry that I am looking forward to working with in the very near future. It really was a labor of love to get tracks for C About Me.
Synbad: So after the album drops what’s next for Marcos?
Marcos: I guess I have to concentrate on the Texas leg of the Latium Tour with Frankie J, Natalie, and Baby Bash. Then in August I have End of Summer Bash with KISS FM and some more concerts in Dallas in September.
Marcos Hernandez will inevitably be compared to Frankie J, but that would be a disservice to both artists. They have distinctive styles and deserve to be looked at as two individuals who are bringing Latin Flava to R & B and Pop Music.
Marcos will surely be taking the Nation by storm this summer so make sure you support this Dallas Latino because I promise you, he won’t disappoint you!
