Hayek & Cruz show us why the West was Wild & Sexy !
The wishes of every Mexicano and Latino male in the world have finally been answered! Next Tuesday, January 9th, Fox Home Video will release “Bandidas” starring Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Steve Zahn and Dwight Yokam. This comedy is set in Mexico as the rail road makes it’s way South from the US to Mexico City. Salma plays the daughter of a wealthy land owner who has returned from being educated in Europe. Penelope plays a farmer’s daughter, who will stand her ground no matter who is trying to intimidate her. Both cross paths when an American Bank starts forcing Mexicans to sell their land. When their fathers are shot, they decide to team up and with help from a retired bank robber, played by Sam Shepard and a green horned criminologist, played by Steve Zahn, they start robbing the banks owned by the Americanos and start helping their people get their lands back.
“Bandidas” features a fun action-packed script by acclaimed French filmmaker Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, The Transporter) and Robert Mark Kamen (The Karate Kid). A rollicking buddy movie with voluptuous sex appeal, outrageous comedy and breathtaking stunts, “Bandidas” breaks the cliches of Western conventions and gender stereotypes, setting a new gold standard for the genre and utilizing its distinctly feminine wiles to redefine the wild frontier. The “Bandidas” DVD includes a robber’s bounty of bonus materials, including audio commentary by Hayek and Cruz plus a behind-the-scenes documentary called “Burning Up The Set with Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz.” Available together in both widescreen and full screen versions, the Bandidas DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $27.98 U.S. / $43.48 Canada.
I have seen the movie, thanks to the people at Fox Home Video, who sent me an advanced copy of the DVD, and it was a pretty funny movie. Salma and Penelope seem to be playing characters completely opposite of themselves and pull off a buddy movie that is almost like a female “Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid”. Both of them are as beautiful as ever and sexy as hell! So make sure you pick up a copy of the movie on Tuesday, January 9th. And Ladies don’t worry about your man, there isn’t a chance in Hell that Salma and Penelope are gonna give him the time of day!!
