Exclusive Coverage of Casa 106.7's Party Gras! Interviews include Gemini, Angelina and Natalie.

If you missed Casa 106.7’s Party Gras, you missed one of the hottest Latino Concerts to hit Dallas since The Roof’s Anniversary tour.  Actually it has been the only Latino Concert since The Roof’s Anniversary tour, which was also held at Escapade 2001.

Mean Mauri, Spin and Domino keep the crowd hyped and entertained between each act and speaking of the acts, Angelina, Gemini, Nina Sky, Play N Skillz, Chingo Bling, Natalie, Frankie J and Pitbull all rocked Escapade 2001!

There were about 4,500 people inside Escapade 2001 and Latinas have truly embraced Casa 106.7, which was obvious by the thousand of Latinas that showed up.  I think the ratio was 20 Latinas for every Latino that showed up.  You can check out the photo gallery for all the DallasVida.com exclusive pictures from Party Gras!  Remember that Dallasvida.com is YOUR online source for all your Favorite Latino Artists and NOBODY that claims to rep the Latin Life can do what we do.  Only DallasVida.com will give you exclusive interviews and photos from Latino events in Dallas and the surrounding area.

Now speaking of exclusive interviews lets kick this off with the First Lady of Latin Dance, Angelina.  It has been a few years since her last album and we asked her what she has been up to lately.

Synbad:

So what’s been going on with you?

Angelina:

Well, I am now co-host for Mo in the Morning on Party 104.9 in Houston. I just finished my first week and it has been exciting.  I have also started work on my fourth album and its going great.

Synbad:

It’s been awhile since you have performed in Dallas, how was the crowd response?

Angelina:

It was all Latino and I was surprised that everybody remembered me.  I told the crowd it made me feel really proud to open Party Gras.  You know when I started there weren’t many Latinos on the scene, you know Dance music was our only outlet and now we are everywhere.  I was just glowing on stage, the crowd was awesome and I was surprised and proud that they remembered my songs.

Synbad:

Now in case anybody has forgotten you have 2 degrees right? I remember when you would be in the limos and on the planes with your nose in the books.

Angelina:

(Laughing) Yea, I did graduate on time and for three years I never slept. I had to stay up after the show and on red eye flight across the country and my dancers would be asleep but I was up writing papers for psychology and  biology.  But it was worth it, now I get to pursue my dreams and I have something to fall back on.  Any one can do anything when you don’t compromise yourself and when your willing to make sacrifices for what you want.  I just want to let the Latinas know that they can do anything they want.  I appreciate the love that Dallas always gives me and I cant’ wait till the album is done so I can come back with new music for all of you.

My Primo, Gemini rocked the crowd not once by twice, just like Angelina. They both did their set and came back with NB Ridaz to do their songs with them.

Synbad:

Gemini, how is the album coming?

Gemini:

It’s called History In the Making and its coming in May.  That’s what I am doing making history so I just put on my album.

Synbad:

How many tracks will you have on the album?

Gemini:

Right now I have 55 tracks and I need to get it down to the best 14. I have good people working for me and we will get it narrowed down.

Synbad:

Why just 14 lets make it 28?

Gemini:

(Laughing) You already know, I will get a double album out later. Right now I am fixing to drop some mix tapes and stuff like that, I got a lot of stuff underground right now.

Synbad:

Who is gonna be on the next album?

Gemini:

I got Chamillionaire, Merciless, Happy P, Baby Bash, Frankie J and my boy Stoney DeVille.  I am talking with Pitbull and that track might just make the album.  I am also looking to do a track with Daddy Yankee and I’m gonna talk to Pitbull about that since we all know the same people in the game it’s only a matter of time before all these collaborations happen.  So look for History In the Making this May.  Dallas, you know I got nothing but love for ya, so keep supporting all of us.

Up next is the newest Latina artist, who has been dominating radio station countdown lists since her song came out.  I think it was on KKDL’s top four at four for about 3 months.

Synbad:

Is it true you are a former Houston Rockets Cheerleader?

Natalie:

Yes, I was a Hoston Rockets Power Dancer for 7 seasons.

Synbad:

When did you start pursuing your singing career?

Natalie:

I started about 4 years ago, it’s going so fast and now I am here in Dallas. It’s been great.

Synbad:

How did you get into the industry?

Natalie:

Well I start about 5yrs ago, dancing for an artist that was on Latium Records.  Charles Chavez was the manager and he knew I danced for the Rockets and he heard me freestyle at a club and the rest was history.  I start singing hooks on mixtapes and since Baby Bash is a good friend of mine he used me on some hooks on his tracks.  I also started rapping on mixtapes also.

Synbad:

Who are some of the producers and artists that are on your album?

Natalie:

I have Happy Perez doing my album, I write the lyrics and he makes the beats and bam the magic happens.  Bash is on two of the tracks. There are club tracks, ballads, tracks you can ride to, and there are some tracks for the fellas. The album comes out May 1st on Universal so Dallas make sure you pick it up!

Synbad:

Who are some of the people that inspired you growing up?

Natalie:

I grew up listening to Micheal Jackson actually Off the Wall is one of my favorite albums.  Madonna, Janet Jackson and other R&B Artists, you know my parents listened to disco and 80’s hits.  Since I am a dancer at heart I listened to anything that had me moving.

Synbad:

How did you like the crowd response?

Natalie:

The crowd here in Dallas was crazy! They were really feeling me and it made me feel good especially since they don’t know me that well yet.  The energy they had really makes an artist like me perform better.  I have to say it was nice seeing all the Latinas out there.  I get so many compliments and stories from the fans about Going Crazy and how they see it relates to their lives. It’s great. Dallas, I just want to say I appreciate the love and please pick up my album on May 1st.

Well that’s part one of the interviews from Casa 106.7’s Party Gras. Make sure you check back later this week for the Nina Sky and Frankie J interviews from Party Gras.
