TV Azteca has partnered with Sony Pictures Television to create a Latino remake of the Fran Drescher sitcom The Nanny. Producer Genoveva Martinez said Azteca's version of The Nanny will be adapted to give the series local flavor; however, La Ninera will follow the basic story lines of the original series. The network said it expects to announce the cast by month's end. Typically, situation comedies do not go over well in Mexico. But for some reason Mexico loved The Nanny, which aired on TV Azteca for many years and had great ratings.
