Club Che was the place to be this past Monday for the release of “The Process” the long awaited CD from Play N Skillz. The hottest Dallas Rappers and other Texas Artists showed up to support Play N Skillz. Natalie, Baby Bash, Frankie J, Gemini, Mexodus, Phar East, DSR, Little Troy, Tyson Thompson from the Dallas Cowboys, and newly signed Towdown, from Houston all showed up on the red carpet to celebrate the release of the album. Radio Personalities like Domino (Casa 106.7), Nina Chantele (Casa 106.7), Billy the Kid (Kiss FM), Pooh (Kiss FM), Keynote (97.9 the Beat), Supa K (97.9 the Beat), Action Jackson (97.9 the Beat), Mean Mauri (Casa 106.7) and several others also showed up to show support and respect for Play N Skillz.
The VIP line was long and had a lot of Latinos standing up for over two hours just to get into CHE. And the ladies were all over the place and as Frankie J, Baby Bash, and Play N Skillz walked the red carpet into CHE. In fact, several fans tried to pull them into the crowd. Good thing the bodyguards were there to help walk the guys down the red carpet.
Natalie looked as beautiful as ever as did all the models from Viviana Entertainment. Now this past September Play N Skillz also filmed the video for Latinos Stand Up in and around Dallas. The video will be in rotation on BET and MTV soon. I had a chance to talk to everybody inside CHE and I have some exclusives just for you guys.
Synbad: So what’s up fellas? What’s it like to get all the support for the party and for your video?
Play: It’s about time, number 1. Number 2, Its great to see the city come together and as you can see tonight by the people that are out hear waiting to get into CHE. We got the Races, ya know, Blacks, Latinos, Asians and all the car clubs to come out to the video shoot. You know this has never been done like this, this is history for the DFDub. We are excited about making this cd and the video, I mean you know that in H-Town everybody is on everybody’s video, on everybody’s tracks, everybody supports everybody. So I called everybody and told them to come out for the shoot. There artists here in Dallas that went to New York and LA to shoot their videos but we decided that we would stay here in Dallas. We had Big Tuck and DSR, Phar West, Dallas Dymond Life and other artists out here and we shot the video in Dallas, NOBODY has done this till now and we are happy with the way everything is going down. There wasn’t any hate out here today and there wasn’t any beef. Everybody got to see how a video gets made and this is what it’s gonna take to help Dallas get some shine and blow up. So make sure you pick up “The Process” and show the world that Dallas is the spot to be!
Gemini: Oh Man, it’s BIG! I didn’t think it was gonna be this big. This is great for the Latinos. The song is taking off and has been added to 2 movie soundtracks one for MTV Films and another that will star David Spade. It’s giving all of us some great exposure.
Synbad: Natalie, welcome back to D-Town. Now how was the Latium tour?
Natalie: It went well, it was good, you know. It was Baby Bash, Frankie J and myself. We got to meet all our friends in different cities each night and that was great. It was a three month tour and now we have all branched off to do individual tours to support our albums.
Synbad: Now speaking of albums, have you started working on any new material for your new album?
Natalie: I am, I have begun writing new material. I been writing between signing my contract with Latium, I also signed a publishing deal so that gives me an opportunity to continue to write not only for myself but maybe another artist will sing one of my songs. I’m looking to have a single out by February and have my new album out in March or April. Now I have to give alotta of love for Play N Skillz, you know “The Process” will be a great CD and I hope all my fans here in Dallas pick up the album and support Play N Skillz.
Synbad: So Frankie how was the Latium Tour for you?
Frankie J: It was great, man. We went all over the states for three months and we all had a great time. The album went platinum with over a million sold and I am just blessed, Columbia has been very supportive of the album and right now I am working on the Spanish album.
Synbad: So how hard is it to write on the road?
Frankie J: When you’re on the road you’re constantly on the go and your brain is working at its fullest. So I was working on some music and writing some songs, you know putting things together for the next album. We want to have fresh ideas for the next album and come with something new.
Synbad: I saw that some of the ladies really got excited when you, Play N Skillz and Baby Bash came down the carpet, were you expecting that kind of reaction?
Frankie J: I love Dallas and I know that some of my biggest fans are here in Dallas, like I said before I have been blessed and I hope Play N Skillz get used to this reaction because they will be getting a lot of reactions like this from all over the states. I am proud of these guys for never giving up on their dream and I wish then all the success in the world. So now that they have “The Process” in the store EVERYBODY needs to pick it up and give Play N Skillz all the support they can!
